Hi, my name is Oscar, and I was born and raised in Chula Vista, California. My love for animals started at a young age—my dad would buy me animal toys, put on wildlife shows, and take me to local zoos. Those experiences sparked a lifelong passion for animals and inspired me to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
I studied at Pima Medical Institute, where I earned my Veterinary Assistant Certification, and I’ve now been working in the veterinary field for over two years. I’m passionate about providing the best preventive care for every pet I have the opportunity to work with, and I’m currently working toward becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to continue growing in this field.
One of my favorite parts of being a veterinary assistant is educating pet owners—helping them understand how to best care for their pets and recommending the right treatments to support their health and happiness.
At home, I share my life with my two Beagles, Bailey and Kiara, and my Red-Eared Slider Turtle. They constantly remind me why I chose this career and motivates me to keep learning and improving every day.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active by running and hiking local mountain trails. I also love spending time at the beach, going on scenic road trips, exploring new places, and relaxing in peaceful, nature-filled environments.
